What the quote form actually does

The quote form on this site does not send anything to a server. Nothing you type is transmitted to us, stored, or logged when you fill it in. When you press the button, your own phone opens your own messaging app with the details already written out, addressed to (805) 714-7061. Nothing reaches us until you press send in your messaging app.

On a desktop computer there is usually no messaging app to open, so the page shows you the text instead and lets you copy it. Again, nothing is transmitted by the website.

Once you do text us, we have what you sent — normally your name, your phone number and what your vehicle needs. We keep that in the phone and in our job records so we can quote you, book you in, and look up your car if you come back.

What we do with it

We use it to answer you, price the work, schedule it, and keep a service history. That is all. We do not sell it, rent it, trade it, or hand it to anyone for marketing. We share it only where we have to in order to do the job — for example a film supplier for a warranty claim — or where the law requires it.

Text messages

If you text us, we will text you back. That is the conversation you started, and you can end it any time by replying STOP or just telling us. We do not add you to a marketing list because you asked for a quote. If we ever start sending promotions, it will be because you separately said yes, and every message will tell you how to stop.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies of its own. It runs no analytics, no advertising pixels and no session tracking, so we genuinely cannot tell you how many people visited a page.

Two third parties do see a request when a page loads, and you should know about both:

• Google Fonts — the typefaces load from Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address and which page requested them. Google states it does not use these requests to build advertising profiles.
• Google Maps — the map on the contact page is an embed from Google, and it loads when the page loads. If you would rather not be seen by Google at all, the address is written in plain text next to it and you never need to touch the map.

Our host, Cloudflare, keeps ordinary server access logs for security and abuse prevention.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Call or text (805) 714-7061 and we will sort it out. There is no form to fill in and no portal to log into.

California's Shine the Light law (Civil Code 1798.83) lets California residents ask whether we shared personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing. We do not, and we never have.

We are a small local business and do not meet the thresholds that make the CCPA/CPRA apply to us. We are telling you that rather than pasting in a rights framework that does not govern us.

Children

This site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13.

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal. There is no agreed standard for honouring it. Since we run no tracking at all, there is nothing here for it to switch off.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. The current version is always the one published here.
